I hate that there are so many scooters and bikes and they keep weaving in and out of traffic. I hate that the autos keep cruising for passengers obstructing traffic behind. I hate the roads are dug up so often and the road suddenly narrows down. I hate that all businesses and eateries are on the main road and there is no provision for parking so vehicles park on the road. I hate that even house owners don't park their vehicles inside their houses but park on the road causing congestion. I hate that there are no designated auto stands and taxi stands. I hate the vegetable and fruit and flower vendors pushing their carts on a busy road with no care. I hate that some bikers will cross the red signal coming perpendicular to the on coming traffic. I hate that there is no footpath and the pediatrician also have to walk on the road. If the above is not set right, honking is inevitable

This hubris of the Hindi speaking crowd have never stopped amazing me. In india and outside, this situation has happened countless times. Even though I can perfectly well understand and reply back in Hindi, it’s not a language I’m comfortable in. I say I’m sorry, I don’t speak Hindi. I’m not confrontational about it, often have a smile when i say that. I feel that this offers an opportunity for sensible Indians to think about their own biases about what an Indian person should be speaking. If they are Hindi speakers not proficient in English, i tell them I do understand Hindi, but can’t speak it back, and so we have a conversation in Hindi and English respectively and both understand each other. If they are the India= Hindi crowd and start to fume, I watch and enjoy their little meltdown because I have the confidence that they are the idiots for not grasping the first thing about India.
