Probably an unpopular opinion, but I find Duolingo pretty shit to actually learn a language. It's gamified too much to make you feel like you're learning, but you're not.

I completed a ton of levels in Spanish over around a year of regular use but I realised I'm not learning anything other than remembering some words.
