Don't agree. I have made lasting friendships even after getting out of college. The number of close friends I have from school/college times and from after are pretty similar. It's just than when in school/college times less effort is necessary to actually see each other to develop the friendship. After that, except for work colleagues (and some neighbours), you'd rarely see any other adults on a regular basis.

So, more efforts are required from both to develop the bond. I think it gets easier when you don't keep tabs on who's making how much effort for a while. If you liked someone's company once - seek it again proactively. It might take a couple of years - but they'd have the potential to progress from just acquaintances/hangout buddies to just friends to close friends.

Initially, if after trying a few times - the other person does not seem keen to catch up - let them go. They may not seek your company, but someone else might. Just because anyone has other close friends, doesn't mean they do not wish to have more.

I also hide, though they know where I spend so their guess is usually very close to my actual pay and they also knew my first compensation and i didn't change company so far.

Karun nair should be selected in the team based on his performances in 8 games. Look at his average my god. Now look at it objectively. Our top 3 are world number 2,3,4 and have god tier numbers. I don't see how hey deserve to be dropped. And if you are dropping them based on their test form then somebody doing well in both Ranji and VJT should be selected. Nair isn't that. Now if you say nair could play at number 4. Then that means dropping Iyer. Who has done great in ODI'S and in the same VJT himself scored at an avg of 325. So he has done nothing to be dropped honestly. And if you want to select Karun nair why not have the same energy for the selection of Gaja

Now sanju or pant is debatable. But I can see the management preferring pant because of his aggressive nature and a left handed option. Selecting Samson wouldn't have been blasphemous. Should have been selected probably but missing out on VJT costed him. Still just a backup option so shouldn't be going crazy over it.
