A year ago or so, when our areas faced water shortage, a middleman approached us and said if we offered some money(collected from RAs), he will bribe a lineman to turn on the valve and reduce it for other areas resulting in rise in water supply to our areas.

(We didn't go for it cuz it's a scam as in sure the water supply would increase for a short period but what stops the same lineman from turn down the valve after sometime) 😂

Not sri lankan, but definitely from a completely alien culture to my family. It took 4 years from the day I first informed them. It was a slow, painful process. But, now we are all happy.
