The future of SEO is an interesting topic. Guessing the answer to your question is it depends.

Generally speaking, I doubt advancements in AI will change much since AI relies on humans making content that rank on search engines.

No new content, no new AI answers.

SEO as a career will most likely remain the same, if anything you'll use AI enabled tools to do some aspects of the job, but the thinking behind an SEO strategy for a new product would most likely be derived from sales teams finding problems to solve for customers and then marketers writing about these problems.

If a new product comes to market that solves a new problem then humans will need to create educational content that attracts buyers.

Not sure how the industry will fade away in the next five years.
