Why the correction is FAR from over - Stocks returns in last 3 years **Background** I have considered BSE Top 500 stocks. Last major bottom of Nifty was in June 2022. Major top was in Sep 2024. **How to read the table below** From 2022 Bottom till 2024 Top, there were 121 stocks which gave more than 200% returns. After so much crash, even today there are 69 stocks which are more than 200% up in 3 years (since 2022 Bottom). **Conclusion** Normally, stocks returns in 3 years should be 25-50% for normal stocks, and 50-100% for good stocks. Here we have 169... 4 0 replies
Taking a break The market is crashing, and honestly, the urge to check my portfolio every hour is way too real. But instead of stressing over every dip, I’m deleting my stock broker app for a while. I’m not selling, not making panic moves, just stepping back and letting my investments do their thing. My SIPs are running, my stocks are solid, and I know the market will bounce back eventually. No point in overthinking every red candle. Sometimes, the best move is to do nothing 4 0 replies
Doubt regarding the indian oil and petroleum industry So, i don't know much about this industry, i am confused as to what does IOC, bpcl, hpcl do, where they get the petrol diesel from, do they extract crude oil themselves, as that would be highly volatile, since crude prices gets changed every day, yet the petrol diesel price stays constant at the pumps, so what does ongc, oil india or reliance do, i know about reliance that it refines the crude oil, so does that means ongc extracts crude oil, what price play happens Like it is... 3 0 replies

I had a terrible experience with a Finfluencer who recommended a high-risk stock, and I ended up losing money. 😓 On the flip side, my friend followed another Finfluencer who gave solid, well-researched advice, and they made a great return. 📈 It's clear: the impact of Finfluencers can be a hit or miss! OMCs are good right? Wrong! Crude oil prices are elevated. How does a traditional downstream oil company react? By hiking fuel prices. OMCs, however, have maintained a defacto freeze on petrol and diesel prices at pumps. Great for drivers, not so great for OMC investors. Thanks to the majority shareholding of these companies by President of India, the government is forcing these companies to put political objectives in front of profits. I have no idea why on earth should an average investor continue to hold OMC stocks 3 0 replies

Tariffs Tariffs !! For India to develop India needs foreign money inflows either as trades or investments. While USA is busy planning reciprocal tariffs, how do we achieve this goal ? People are glorifying developed nations, dreaming to settle there (brain drain as one of the issue) and want to consider India only for retirement purpose due to healthcare. If developing countries like India becomes cash cows for developed economies leaving no room for us to compete, how will we develop ? 2 0 replies

Natco Pharma, Lesson Learnt A sharp decline in sales and profits, with their formulations export business taking a significant hit. I haven’t followed their recent con calls—did they signal an impending downtrend in sales? I noticed DIIs selling, but FIIs were buying at the same time. Their financial health appeared strong, yet a single weak quarter changed everything. Warren Buffett’s words come to mind: “Never invest in a business you cannot understand.” A valuable lesson learnt. 3 0 replies
We're already in a bear market. No one wants to admit it. Technically, the Nifty has about -7% more to go for it to be official, but Small & Midcaps indexes are already down 20%. And any rally is currently being sold into. Most importantly portfolios across the board are down at least 20% and investor sentiment is fearful and bearish. - Yesterday we had news that the SIP stoppage ratio for Jan 2025 had hit a record 109%. Dad is giving money to invest in the market So recently my Dad offered me one lakh to Invest in the market. For background he’s a pretty successful investor with over 300% returns and he’s always been trying to offer me money to invest in the market. I have always denied it because I don’t think I’m that good at analysing companies as of yet. I have been invested in the market but small amounts with my own savings from my monthly allowance. My overall portfolio had about a 20% increase in about 2 months but I recently... 4 0 replies
