What’s a job I can do where I don’t have to talk to a single human and can have earbuds in the whole shift? (Pls, no warehouse or similar slavery like jobs)

Yeah. As the title said. Currently, I very luckily managed to find a role with a water/sewerage company and my job is pretty much responding to live chat customer enquiries and emails, which I don’t really mind. It’s the ‘in person’ interactions I despite. Unfortunately, management told us we will all soon be going onto the phones and having to talk to customers. Fuck that. I’ve done call centre before and I’d sooner beg on the streets. I am very socially anxious and kinda socially retarded. And then, when...

I work a lot but I think I prefer the company of NEETs more than working ppl

I work a ton and hate it, I'm a good worker, I do my overtime every week, say my yessirs and all that etc, I grew up homeschooled so like I don't relate to the ppl I work with at all and never really have except for a few select people. Every NEET I talk to is like hella cool most of the time and most of the time have really good taste. So yeah just wanted to say u guys arent as hated by everyone like you might...

    Be grateful.

I see a lot of posts about how NEET life is just as depressing as holding a job. I have to strongly disagree. You get to spend majority of your day messing around on the internet either playing video games or being entertained by your favorite personalities. I think the depression comes from doing ABSOLUTELY nothing. If you do even a little bit here and there you won’t feel as bad. For example, making dinner and cleaning house can benefit you greatly. I recently found a recipe for a...

Jobs for weak, pathetic people who aren’t particularly competent at anything except for fancy math and have autism and ADHD

Hello. The Homelessmaxxer/Norwegianprisonmaxxer is back, desperate, and willing to take things seriously. I need to get out of my parents’ house ASAP. My dad made weird sexual comments about being interested in the kinky shit I get up to because I’m his daughter. Mum witnessed and saw no issue with what he said. I feel unsafe. Things I require to function: - Consistent work schedule where I know when I am working and what is expected of me ahead of time - A variety of tasks to break the...

Why every NEET should read "Oblomov"

I wanted to share a book recommendation that might resonate deeply with many here: Oblomov by Ivan Goncharov. It’s not just a novel, it’s a mirror held up to a life of inactivity, wasted potential, and the consequences of letting passivity consume you. Oblomov, the main character, starts with promise--a bright young man with a future. But as you read, you see him sink deeper into a state of lethargy, inertia and avoidance. He dreams big, makes plans, and imagines himself achieving greatness, yet he never lifts a finger...

Part time job to alleviate the boredom a good or bad idea?

I (29M) have worked as business development / inside sales B2B in the corporate sphere. My last employment dated back from summer 2023. So I have been a NEET for a year and a bit now. Due to my vulnerability towards psychosis, I could not hold down my employment for very long (max. 1 year). Recently I have been thinking about taking on a part time job which would be easier than the jobs I did in the past. I applied for part time cashier at a supermarket. Is...

Do you have dreams or goals that you want to accomplish, but because of your disability, being NEET, mental health, past, or you belong to a poor or toxic family, can't be accomplished?

How do you live with this feeling? What have you changed to accept that these dreams and goals can't be fulfilled?

Nothing is our fault. We're byproducts of circumstance and genes

We choose nothing about us. Not our phsyical attractiveness, our intelligence, how we're born or raised, how much our parents loved us nor how rich they were, the religion we're inclined to believe, our personality, the environment is complete luck until you grow older, then a mixture of your earlier environment and genes determines the rest, and how good you are at your hobbies and work seems to be determined largely by IQ and talent. So what's the point of all of this if you were dealt a very...

Do you guys take care of your appearance?

After I graduated high school, I became a NEET and completely isolated myself from everyone. I gained a lot of weight, became insecure, and just really didn’t take care of myself. After 3 years, I got sudden motivation to fix myself up and started to workout. I lost weight, started skincare, makeup, doing my hair, and overall just dressing/looking presentable. Despite doing all of that for some years now, I question why I bother when I have no reason and nothing to look forward to. I have 0 friends...

Moving out made me more hikkish than ever.

I now just sit in my room all day, avoiding my roommates, eat crap food, drink tea watch Game of Thrones (had it downloaded on my hard drive long time ago, but didn't finish the series, but read all the books), read, play video games on my old PC, and chill. Have a lot of savings and some inheritance, so I'll probably be okay, but funny how moving out did the opposite to what my stepdad thought would happen, if I moved out.

Did anyone else actually like being in school?

I'm not sure what the consensus is here, but for me personally I really liked being in school. I basically felt completely lost when I got out of school and had to try to forge my own path in life. I know some people will say "you didn't like school, you just liked being a kid", which is partially true, but an oversimplification. What I really liked about school was that you had a clear path laid out in front of you. Jobs tend to require you to rely...

    Personal responsibility is bs

Yes we all have the power to make our lives somewhat better. The big catch is we all need help from others to do so! Even getting a basic job is you asking someone to give you an opportunity! Learning skills requires teachers, starting businesses requires prior wealth many times in the form of loans. I bet most of your food is made by another person, if not it was packed by somebody else. In short all people need each other to some degree.

What if robots replace most of the workforce ?

I was listening to a podcast about AI yesterday. In that podcast they told about an experimental robot, that was trained to do all sorts of household tasks. They claimed it was going to be a great help, for elderly people, who couldn't do certain tasks anymore. I'm sure it's going to help lot's of people, if they are able to get it on the market, eventually. But it made me think. If a robot is able to do most household tasks, then it's also able, to replace a...
