How consuming content looked before internet, streaming services and social media.

I was a kid in 90s and teenager in late 90s and early 00s. I didn't have internet access until I was 19. So, where did I get content? The primary sources of content in modern understanding was magazines and TV. I was growing up poor couldn't afford much magazines of my own, so I would spend hours in reading rooms reading various magazines, I would also watch TV for hours and read books, usually ones borrowed from libraries.

    Era of grift

Everyone is grifting these days. Only narcissistic sociopath success. You would be a fool to doing actual work in these days. Criminals become president, billionaires, influencers all over the world. Luigi is just the beginning. Next decade will be very interesting. Riots, assassinations, robbery etc. How are you preparing for days to come? Definitely gonna need a shelter for so many different reasons.

    Thoughts on Buddhism?

I think a lot of NEETs might be able to relate to a lot of the Buddha's words. I think Buddhism has NEET/outcast vibes in a lot of ways. As with any philosophy, you are going to find some inaccuracies and contradictions. Especially with philosophies that are thousands of years old and were mainly spread by word of mouth, like Buddhism, so there is bound to be some bullshit and falsehoods in there, even if the Buddha was a perfectly enlightened person. A social problem a lot of people...

    Stolen from

Boomers, founders, the top 1% have stolen from us, the people. War, inflation, rising cost of food. The cards are stacked against millennials, Gen Z. Gen Alpa’s fucked. Skibidi toilet can’t shift kids into a higher bracket. Ghost jobs and layoffs, wage slaves for corporations. The rich are laughing in their villas and mansions, and ugly NEETs are gooning in their rooms, penniless and pathetic. The divide is astronomically wide, so much so the sky looks different for Bezos and Musk. We’re controlled by the powerful, our measly bank...

Wishing to connect with others online

I know this subreddit isn't designed to seek friendships , however I am hopeful to attempt to overcome my isolate even if it's just though online disscussions . Like many others here , I struggle greatly to communicate with people in person . I never had any friendships in childhood and currently spend most of my days at home or going for walks by myself . I'd be happy to hear from other lonely people who wish to talk to someone with similiar struggles as themselves .

I was such a happy child with dreams and ambitions

You want to tell my five-year-old self that I would become this I just wouldn’t believe it even in school. I was always quiet. I was sheltered and I wasn’t exposed to a lot of things that other kids were. I ended up being homeschooled for my last year of high school and college I had an IEP plan that allowed me to go to school once a week and it was in community college. I didn’t really have that much friends and then when I was 19 I...

Anyone else got bullied at work? How did you handle it? Would you do anything differently now?

I remember I was a contractor at one job and everyone was going to lunch. There was an older guy who was like somehow the presumptive ring leader. The coworkers had asked me to join them so I was like ok but the older guy didn't like me and asked them, who's this? And I introduced myself to him, but the way I did it was I was a bit offended that he didn't ask me and his group was all women so I think he was mad that...

Any Ex-NEETs here still haunted by their past NEET lives?

Was a NEET for quite a while due to extreme anxiety and suicidal thoughts until 2 years ago. After seeking help, I am currently enrolled in University and have to apply and complete an Internship to fulfil graduation requirements. However, my mental health issues are still there....and also I think that I am not motivated at all. I kept having thoughts of failing my internship, and I ain't motivated to learn, like I gave up on life itself. The NEET life felt so good and horrible at the same...

10 of us. 1,000 sq. ft each. No neighbors. Cool location. $18k total. That's less than a 1 year apartment lease.
