Commercial vehicle(tempo) parking in society An owner in our apartment has two commercial tempos available and parks it in society premises. We already have a very limited parking space and the two tempos hog alot of it. Are commercial vehicles allowed to be parked in society premises? Any bylaw that prohibits or allows it? 3 0 replies
How it feels like to be stared at. As a boy, I often observed while traveling on Mumbai’s local trains, how some men from the general compartment would lock eyes with women in the ladies compartment. The moment a woman realises she's being watched, she would shift her seat to face away from the man, avoiding his gaze. Two years ago, I found myself on the receiving end of such an experience. One morning, I was waiting at Thane station on platform 9 of the transhararbour line. After getting onto the train, I sat in the first-class... 2 0 replies

Not able to appreciate any beauty here after reading all the rape posts from the city. I have still not been raped. This thought occurs to me often. I am only going to speak for myself. Really sucks that I have to have this at the back of mind somewhere, ALL THE TIME. I see the look into my dad’s eyes when he has to be cool and let me go out at night. It hurts. I cannot imagine what the women who have been raped go through.. What a life to have to live. I have been manipulated into having sex so many times.... 3 0 replies
Failed my last chance to clear a subject, lied to my parents, and now I’m lost In 2022, I moved to Mumbai to pursue engineering (I’m not from Maharashtra). Last year, during my final year, I received a year drop because of one subject: AME-1. I was devastated and didn’t know how to tell my parents, so I lied to them. I told them that I was opting for an integrated MTech program offered for free by my college, claiming companies weren’t visiting due to the recession. My parents aren’t educated, so they had no idea. They trusted me. Financially, my family is stable, but... 2 0 replies

Does anyone else feel that Mumbai has changed too much? It certainly cannot be the fact that back then I used to be a school kid/college student with lots of free time and no responsibilities and now I am an adult with multiple responsibilities who has to work for a living and manage my expenses. It is only the city that has changed not the fact that I have to do grown up stuff like working, commuting, paying bills , paying loans. Stuff my parents used to struggle with as well but they didnt burden me with it, so... 2 0 replies

Mumbai Parking Scam Been seeing a lot of scams in regards to parking in Mumbai. Seen two types of scams, especially in South Mumbai: 1. A random person/group of people will stand at a potential parking area on the road and help you park. Will ask for 100/200 rupees, and won't give any receipt. If you refuse they say it is to keep the 'mamus' quiet and not fine your car. The nearby official parking will refuse to give you space, even if there is plenty citing silly reasons. 2. Official BMC... 4 0 replies

As soon as he tried to take right on signal 500m before metro station a two wheeler almost crashed into the rickshaw. The next convo that followed was something I will remember for rest of my life.
