Alternative timeline without portuguese What if the Portuguese never captured goa ? Beside the fact that it would probably be part of British India , would it still maintain a unique identity or be part of Maharashtra? Based on the recent efforts to de- lusitanize goa many parts already feel like the Portuguese never came 2 2 replies
Wheelchair accessible hotels Hi there! I am visiting Goa for 3 days this month with my mom. I want her to see the ocean and she uses a wheelchair. I would like her to get as close to the beach as possible. I know some hotels provide ramps but it isn’t really clear from the websites. Would appreciate if you are aware of any decent hotels which has accessible washrooms and private beaches preferably. This would mean a lot to me, thanks! 4 0 replies

What do we mean when we say there’s no casteism in Goa? I am a Goan and have been living elsewhere for more than a decade. When people ask me if there’s casteism in Goa, I often find myself telling people that it isn’t as bad as in the other regions. But makes me also think that all casteism is bad casteism. Why do we tend to push casteism in Goa under the carpet calling it subtle and indirect? There are so many places where they practice it openly. 3 13 replies
