Thoughts on freestyle chess? The pieces are originally placed on the board because it is optimal that way. Allowing for freestyle chess means that the pieces are random which will take even more time for development. I think that it is to break away the monopoly of FIDE. Magnus maybe supporting it due to money . But I don't think Indian players should support it. 5 0 replies
