    Werid position to be in

Hi, So was dating this girl in the office (ik beginners mistake) but that's what happen when you don't think great. It was going great for around 6 - 7 months, since I didn't see a long term future or rather I wasn't confident I decided to break it off. Yes it was quite werid after that, we didn't have much to talk and we had our fights as to why it happened. Cut to present, she sort of misses the affection and time that we spent. We occasionally...

Which identity do you think is most important for you? Caste, language, state, or religion? And if it comes to saving the nation, are you willing to sacrifice these identities...like becoming only Indian, nothing else?

If The River Ganga is Revered as a Goddess, Why Do We Pollute Her So Much?

The River Ganga is worshipped as a goddess, believed to wash away sins and purify the soul. Millions take a dip in her waters with utmost devotion, and her presence is deeply embedded in India's spiritual and cultural fabric. Yet, paradoxically, the same river is choked with industrial effluents, untreated sewage, and tonnes of waste. Industries dump toxic chemicals into the "holy" waters, people throw household garbage without a second thought, and some even urinate and defecate along the riverbanks. If we truly revere Ganga as divine, isn't this...

What is the one thing you wish you could change about yourself?

I wish I could know how to excuse myself out of some conversations. Like when you are in a conversation with a self absorbed person who doesnt know how to listen to you but wants us to listen to them all the time. I find myself getting stuck in convo with them, nodding my head from time to time and smiling in btw. But once I start to say something they find something related to what I was saying and make it about themselves. And I HATE IT.

Secretly gay men who married women due to society's stigma, how is life after marriage?

I was unaware of how many gay men are pressured into marrying women. This stems largely from societal stigma and the topic being taboo. Additionally, a lack of understanding about what it means to be gay contributes to the problem. My own understanding of the frequency of these situations grew significantly after a conversation with a gay acquaintance. He shared details about his dating experiences, including meeting many middle-aged men on Grindr who were married with children. One particular example that struck me was a soldier (army or CRPF)...

Why is nobody doing anything for the children who beg on the streets ?

I know India has other critical shit to deal with being a third world country but aren't they the future of India? I don't want to get into the whole *mafia that operates via these innocent souls*. I feel ashamed to live in a country where I have to look into the eyes of children who are begging me for money. I just feel terrible. Though, I don't contribute their exploitation assuming somebody has placed them there but I am just curious why isn't the government or anybody doing...

How important is your caste and other people’s caste to you?

I (24 F) come from relatively upper middle class background. I went to a good school in an urban city and was pretty much oblivious to my caste identity till I was in school. I understand what a big privilege this is because nothing was denied to me just because of the community I belonged to. I came to college and for the first time encountered people from different walks of life. The college has a good name in the city but the college’s management is run by a...

Why hasn't there been a proper census since 2011? Why hasn't the government done a census in almost 1.5 decades?

I am studying the subject urban community development and it's been hell to get any proper information on Indian cities and states. All the information available is mostly from 2011 census but it's too dated now, almost 15 YEARS OLD... Information like job demographic in agriculture vs non-agriculture fields don't even count the huge IT industry because it wasn't as big as it is now. And new information is not reliable as they are done by state government themselves and are too skewed to show themselves in favourable positions....

Which is a good lip balm for guys?

I drink a lot of water so it's obviously not that. I have tried Nivea which works but they have doubled the prices. Himalaya is useless and so is Vaseline. Any decent lip balm that doesn't cost a lot and works as well for summer chapped lips.

Why is it normal to talk rudely with waiters (or similar) in some parts of country?

Is it only me or does it make you uncomfortable how some people think they are so privileged to misbehave and talk in a manner as if they are something or someone? Even if you are a king or queen, you have no right to misbehave. No sort of privilege allows for this behaviour. The same people at their workplace, with their stakeholders, with their customers, their relatives will be so “sanskari” and “ji sir, ji uncle” type. But as soon they are outside work, they talk quite rude...
