has anyones parents fffed up their career and marriage prospects. i hate it. parents didnt allow me to work when i graduated during covid bc i only got low paying in person jobs. my mom would have crazy fights with my dad one time i had to pull them apart after my mom almost took out my dads eye. when i was unemployed and my dad and bro were out of my house i had to hear my mom cussing and cursing that my aunt and her daughters would get raped (backstory she thinks my dad is cheating with... 4 4 replies
I'm currently on a flight to Thailand, and the indian stereotypes are true. From the waiting area to the pre-boarding zone and now on the flight, this large group of men in their 30s has been causing a constant disturbance. They are excessively loud, smell of alcohol, and show little regard for basic courtesy. From the Indian airport staff to the airline crew, they've been a challenge for everyone around them. I understand the excitement of a trip, but that shouldn't come at the cost of others' comfort. Unfortunately, this behavior isn't entirely their fault—it's a reflection of the norms they’re used... 5 28 replies
I'm 28 how long realistically do I have to find a groom if I want 2-3 kids? I'm healthy other than dry skin/eczema. Regular periods, no pcos, no asthma, never smoked or drank and am willing to go under any health screenings/tests. Ive been told im quite pretty when my skin is doing good like nice nose, nice cheeks, nice face structure. I'm not into clubbing, having tons of male friends, no relationship past. I work in tech sure my salary is kinda low due to a late start due to the pandemic/some family issues but i have potential to move up due to my B.S... 5 10 replies
Does not being busty count against you in AM? Im not busty I have the same body type as Niti Taylor maybe even smaller boobs than her. I'm trying to gain weight IDC if i lose my small waist i just want to be a bit plumper. The only thing plump about me is my thighs and butt. I feel like im getting rejected for not being busty enough in AM prospects. I try to wear things that accentuate my curves that i have like midi fitted skirts, or high waist jeans but i feel my chest is... 4 6 replies
What's your idea of love? Your perception Someone asked me today about my concept of love. I replied that, to me, love transcends mere affection and attachment. It's a bond where neither partner feels inferior or inadequate when doing something for the other. Love holds immense significance for me; I desire a partner who is as obsessed with me as I am with them, someone who chooses me every single day. When I think about intimacy, I want only their image to come to mind, never considering anyone else. This makes me curious about others' perceptions... 2 12 replies

Why don’t we copy sensible things from developed nations? Instead of learning about how to behave in public places, discipline, civic sense, not littering, respecting queues, etc., we’re making Bollywood remakes of useless Hollywood films, promoting promiscuity, hookup culture, getting drunk, doing drugs, etc. Even these films promote this degeneracy. Clearly, we want what’s easy. And then we wonder why people from poorer countries like India have such a bad reputation in developed nations. Not to mention how it’s hurting our country and society. Before you bash me in the comments, of course it’s a choice at the... 4 19 replies

Did instagram’s algorithm change after Trump came into power or am i just tripping? Tl;dr - I feel instagram algorithm is promoting racist, sexist, bigoted content towards indians with the help of American IT Cell. So my algorithm earlier was mostly filled cute couple reels, funny shinchan reels and other such funny videos, i do not like negative content, for that i come to reddit. i want my instagram feed to be light hearted so i always made sure to and still do, to report and hide racist, sexist, tragedies, news, fights and all this kind of content. But from the past few... 4 10 replies

Can I attend my friends wedding in India as a Pakistani? Hey everyone, One of my close friends (who’s Indian) is getting married, and I really want to attend her wedding in India. However, I hold a Pakistani passport and was born and raised in the Gulf. I’ve only been to Pakistan once in my life (don’t know if that’s relevant), but will it be possible for me to attend her wedding? I’ve Googled it, but there’s no proper information or explanation that actually helps. What kind of proof would I need to show? Has anyone gone through this before?... 2 12 replies

Why is the central government so tone deaf on Hindi Imposition issue? TN will never accept the 3 language policy. I’m posting this because I genuinely don’t understand. No matter the social conditioning, PR, or political rhetoric, deeply rooted cultural and linguistic identities cannot be erased or imposed. Even our most right-wing political parties (except the BJP, of course) either oppose or do not support the three-language policy. So why is the central government still so persistent, despite it being an improbable task? The incentives to learn Hindi already exist, like being able to communicate with half a billion people is reason enough. So why impose it? I have... 3 27 replies

Why our government is not taking any action ensuring the basic hygiene requirements of food ? In the recent days I almost stopped eating street food , these people put their hands anywhere and then make food , I went to a decent restaurant today . I mistakenly went to the kitchen section finding the toilet and it was absolutely filthy . there is no morals when these people make food even in bakeries or local icecream vendors . What can we do to make it better ? 1 11 replies
Why do Indian parents say, 'Be grateful for everything we provide'? Once, I asked my father for a ₹25K phone, but he bought a Vivo phone worth ₹15K without telling me. When I asked him about it and reminded him that I had requested a ₹25K phone, he angrily said, 'Be grateful for everything I provide. There are kids who don’t even have this ₹15K phone.' I agreed. Later, when I scored 90% in my 10th standard exams, he asked, 'Why only 90%?' I replied, 'Be grateful for my percentage. There are kids who failed their subjects.' Then he got... 3 0 replies
