As an Indian American, I wonder, Would you move to US?

Okay, before everyone piles up, the thing with everyone including me is the grass is always greener on the other side. I've seen many Indian Americans here in the States saying they'd rather live back in India. I personally wouldn't do that, but what's the current sentiment in India, I know a lot of people are moving away. Is the US still glamorizing because sometimes people get caught up in a fantasy My main question: What are some things that has changed from India's POV regarding US, has the...

Indians who married foreigners, how did you do it ?

My cousin is dating a girl of Indian origin who lives in UK, she holds a Singapore passport and has no connection to India (Her great grandparents moved from India to Singapore during British period). They are planning to get married and I told them they have to get married under special marriage act in India. My cousin said he can get married in UK and inform the Indian consulate that should be enough. Can you get married aboard and register your marriage in India ? Did you have...

I just fucked my secret santa gifts.

I just got a first job of my career. I thought the secret santa budget was ₹500, so I bought gifts under ₹500. And in POSH Training it was mentioned don't gift expensive items. So, in secret santa I was expecting a cheap coffee mug 🍺, but I got very expensive item worth ₹3000. Now the twist is, me n my colleague were eachother's secret santa. (It spread in whole office) Now I feel extremely embarrassed and sad that I didn't gift expensive items. (Not because it spread in...

I broke up with my boyfriend of 10 years & need some outside perspective.

I(23f) dated this really good guy (24m) since highschool. Things were great with some minor issues here & there, until last year when we started living almost together. He was caring, understanding, supportive of everything that I do, etc. One major habit that bothered me the most was him consuming alcohol endlessly. This started a year back, when I warned him to take control of his lifestyle and stop drinking or may be once or twice a month. Everytime after drinking, he would become aggressive, fight with everyone around,...

    Is India a lost cause?

Now a days coming across many posts showing India in bad light and as much as I dislike those deep down I know that it is the reality also every where I look , I see things which makes it worse. - When I step out , all I see is trash piled up and people having zero civic sense - When I drive, all I see is congestion, pollution and potholes - When I open news, all I see our politicians doing Hindu Muslim and no one talking...

Why Are Most Indian Influencers So Cringe and Toxic?

Is it just me, or are most Indian influencers becoming more unbearable by the day? From fake accents to over-the-top reels, it feels like they’re more about flaunting a fake, staged life than doing anything meaningful. Sure, this trend exists in the West too, but it’s spreading way too fast in India, and it’s honestly disturbing. What’s worse is how some of them misuse religion and culture just to gain followers. Suddenly, everyone’s a spiritual guide or cultural expert, twisting meaningful traditions into cheap trends for clout. It’s so...

Why do Indian men/women dump their other nationalities partners and come back and marry someone else?

I live in Europe, and this has happened in front of me more than I could imagine. As someone who has been with her long-term boyfriend and will marry him, I cannot imagine not marrying the person you dated for so long, but marrying someone you don't know. Three of my acquaintances in the UK (two boys, one girl), went back to India, without even dumping their respective partners, and came back engaged or married (in one case), to someone of their family's choice. And mind you one of...

    Gokul Mathura Temple scam??

Radhey Radhey. So, I recently planned a visit to Mathura Vrindavan. In Mathura, an auto rickshaw guy took me to Gokul and there he assigned a Guide - who claimed to be a Brahmin and provided the guided tour of temples there. The temple priest of "Nanda Lal Jhula" asked me to pay either 2800,3500,5000,8000 corresponding to various types of Bhog called "Bal Bhog" and others excluding 500 RS for Aarti of Nanda Lal. They kept on insisting and when I paid them via Gpay the receiver was different...

    Why are Indians so sensitive?

Why do Indians get hurt and offended so easily? I know I sound like I'm generalizing but it is what I've seen. Is it because India is not easy and you've to just defend yourself and take a stand wherever and whenever possible. I mean no disrespect.

Should I marry someone who hit me

I, 25F am about to get married to this guy (26M) who I dated for 5 years. He’s a doctor who’s doing his residency. I’m a doctor too. Our families have accepted each other too. 1) He has hit me 7/8 times in our relationship 2) I broke up with him for around 6 months and we got back as he has promised me that he has changed and won’t hit me again. 3) I am too attached to him but I still have this fear in mind that...
