Do you ever feel like there’s an excessive amount of garbage in and around this city, more than you’ve noticed in other places?
It's both....here in Tambaram corp, In majority of the residential areas there are no Garbage bins placed on the streets as the area surrounding the garbage bin gets really filthy. So the Corp arranges Garbage Pickup to the residences.
But the problem is, the residential pickup is not regular. They don't come daily, they come at random times of the day. So lot of people, dont get their trash picked up on a daily basis. The people can be more patient like they could collect their daily trash in a bigger bin and wait for the pickup van but they don't. They throw out their daily trash at the nearby open plot or a street corner because they want to keep their houses clean -

Indians how true is it that you should Never partner in business with family or friends?
Stay in Europe. Involving relatives in business will lead to one of these two things. Loss in business or loss in relationship. Specially in your case because they are already established, and you will be joining as an outsider. Stay in Europe, enjoy good life quality and find a job there. -
Who do you blame the most for being a NEET?
I think it is genetics, I always was a kinda coward kid, always scared, parents to blame a little, society ign too, I made too many bad choices and had to deal with the consequences, this traumatized me, low self-esteem also. Now that I don't have friends or anything I don't see the point on working/college, I simply can't. -
Why have media normalised the struggling lives of people in Mumbai? I see people travelling 4 hours daily just to reach their workplace and losing their health, relationships etc in the grill. And it's a worthless grill
My dad used to travel from Panvel to Powai. When i completed my engineering, I decided I want to be at walking distance from work. Couldn't accomplish in my early years, i was 15 km away. Then i moved to 1.2km away. I'm an now 800m away.
I never worked in Mumbai. I don't like sprite of Mumbai in my cup of tea -

What do we mean when we say there’s no casteism in Goa?
I moved to Goa three years ago and have had the chance to interact with many locals. In my experience, I’ve met some truly outstanding individuals who are hardworking, responsible, and go above and beyond in their work. These are the kind of people who don’t have time for petty biases or judgments—they’re focused on their goals and contribute positively to their teams and communities.
That said, I’ve also noticed some behaviors that really put a bad taste in my mouth. For example, judging people based on trivial things like vehicle number plates, restaurant owners' names, or using derogatory terms like 'bhingta.' These attitudes seem to create unnecessary divisions and are far more harmful than any overt casteism I’ve encountered. It’s disappointing, and I tend to avoid people who exhibit such behaviors.
I’ve been trying to understand why these biases exist. From what I’ve gathered, it seems to stem from a mix of historical, social, and cultural factors. Goa has a unique history of colonization, migration, and cultural blending, which has created a complex social fabric. Over time, certain communities may have developed a sense of identity tied to specific markers—like surnames, neighborhoods, or even vehicle number plates—as a way to distinguish themselves from others. This could have led to an 'us vs. them' mentality in some cases.
Additionally, Goa’s small size and close-knit communities might amplify these biases. When people grow up in insular environments, they can become overly attached to their own group’s norms and view outsiders with suspicion or disdain. This isn’t unique to Goa—it happens everywhere—but it feels particularly pronounced here because of the state’s unique cultural dynamics.
Another factor could be economic competition. With the rise of tourism and an influx of outsiders investing in businesses, some locals might feel threatened or marginalized. This could lead to resentment and the need to assert dominance or superiority through these petty biases.
That said, none of this excuses such behavior. If anything, it highlights the need for more open conversations and education to break down these barriers. Goa has so much potential, but these attitudes hold it back. What’s been your experience with this? Do you think these issues are being addressed, or are they still swept under the rug? How can we, as a community, work toward overcoming these biases? -

I am pretty bad at chess. Kindly suggest some new openings .
Play as many openings as you can. For white start with e4, d4, c4, Nf3. Read a bit about various responses by black. At your rating range, both you and your opponent will have limited opening knowledge. So do experiment a lot. After each game, try to see at which point the game went away from the book line. Then analyse that particular position. Take notes if needed. Then switch on the engine and see if the engine agrees with you. Say you felt very confident that you were better, but the engine shows you a move which your opponent could have played and created a problem for you.
Honestly at your rating range, games are decided purely tactically. Like you left a piece undefended or your opponent missed a mate in 2. So practice them more and more and read strategy and endgame. I see that you are taking chesscom lessons. Keep doing that and you will see the results slowly. All the best -
