A lot of guys are single not because no girl would date them, but because they wouldn't talk to any girl that doesn't match to their entitlement standard. Drop the standards, and approach women around you for little things without expectations.

If you talk to every girl as if you want to date her, your chances go down significantly. So be normal, talk to girls as much as you can without any romantic angle, build up confidence and that is pretty much all you have to do.

The same reasons stand when dating or marrying - unless a woman is marrrying primarily for financial/social security or enhancement over her own affordability/station...which educated/employed, independent minded women would not. Most independent minded women would make remarks to "disqualify" a prospect, on the grounds you specify. The wish to marry the person (ideally). Not just his financial or social status.

Those women looking for financial/social security or enhancement anyway would only look for any other criteria, including dating experience, personality looks etc. only after they've established the financial/social class of the guy.
