All I can see is the shit acting of Katrina Kaif. Destroyed any bit of credibility to this movie. Couldn’t take this film seriously because of her acting. Even Nargis in Rockstar grew on me but not her lol…Atleast nargis has the excuse of being a debutante. What does this lady have? She was a star and experienced by that point. Zero chemistry btw SRK and her. What a swan song for Yash Chopra lol! Could be his worst ever…

Even ARR’s music was not that great considering the amazing run he had those days like Rockstar, Raanjhanaa, Kadal etc(this Jab tak hai Jaan album gets lost btw them). Only liked jiya re, Ishq Shava and Heer. That poem was fine too ig. The bgm is fine i guess. The rest are disappointing…This ending was kinda too light for all the melodrama the film threw at us and it’s not as dramatically satisfying. But seen without the context and the scenes that came before,this scene is good and simple and maybe natural. But it has all those bearings before it and here it just doesn’t measure up to all that headaches I had to go through to get to this point at the end! So it just goes away like that.

Despite Anil Mehta’s gorgeous frames throughout the film,ARR’s bgm and heavyweight SRK and an Anushka in form,the end isn’t that much. That cheesy speech by Anushka about the man who doesn’t die at the end coupled with Katrina’s inexpressiveness meh. An actress from SRK’s 90’s era opposite SRK in place of Katrina would have worked better I feel…Kajol, Manisha, Preity, Rani, Aishwarya or even someone from Kat’s era itself like Kareena or Deepika they all could have done better than this saint. Another Ladakh-SRK movie but see how amazing Dil Se is with manisha and him and here JTHJ is so bland ! Though rewatchable because of its frames ig!

Is anyone surprised?

Finally! Someone in an Indian sub talked about urban transit and walkable cities. I am so glad. Even though I am not a citizen of Delhi, I know that once Delhi adopts such changes, the other parts of the country will follow suit, just as was the case with Delhi metro.

Honestly it's baffling to me that our country has one of the least car ownership per capita in the world but a majority of the new and upcoming infra is designed to cater to the minority of wealthy car owning populace while completely ignoring the plight of the non-car owning majority of the population. This goes on to show that we as a nation are also following the American roadmap (quite literally) where a handful of car companies through their financial clout and political overreach were able to coerce the lawmakers to build more car-friendly multi-lane highways by ripping off street tram and railway lines across major cities, thereby reducing the once vibrant and sustainable cities to decripit, desolate and bankrupt hellholes in the long run (case in point, Detroit, MI). And this scares me the most because we as a country are more precariously positioned in terms of population and climatic conditions where such inefficient and unsustainable solutions to the mobility problem will only bring about financial and environmental ruin far greater in severity as compared to the one we see in the US.
