Never had real life friends and gave up with fake online friends a few years ago. Nowadays I cope by interacting with my own kind here on this sub. Your CTO must be someone with experience building products, the technology decisions made at an early stage are very important (a lot of people underestimate the importance), bad decisions made in the name of "speed" are very costly, and, sometimes, can put you in a "live or die" scenario. My best advice is not to underestimate the effort of building the product the right way from the beginning, find someone with experience, believe me, it can save you from a lot of headaches down the road.
