I left Lucknow in 2013 for higher studies but I studied in Kanpur so coming back to Lucknow always felt like coming from 0 to 1 even though the city started to lose it's charm already but still compared to Kanpur, Lucknow felt far more better in terms of transportation, civic sense and cleanliness.

Then after a while, I moved out of the state itself for job prospects and since then, I have only been to Lucknow for long holidays. City has been degrading since then. People lack civic sense, can't and don't have any sense of responsibility, no one follows traffic rules, people drive like crazy, "Adhivaktas", "Bharat Sarkar", "Ucchh Nyayalaya" cars are a cherry on top. People used to talk politely and "Aap" is how we used to address people irrespective of the gender, age, religion, etc. But, now that's not the case. People will talk in the most disgusting way possible.

Lucknow is undergoing what Delhi and the other big cities have gone through already. I believe that the sudden influx of people from other parts of the state are responsible for this change. It's not even their fault completely. India lacks civic sense and politeness in-general. Moral values as a subject is taken lightly and none of the schools teach traffic rules, social responsibility and taxes. Anything good for us is too good, I guess.

Heck, even Rohtas Summit used to be a good place until chappris and rowdies started to flock the place and create nuisance every other day. I stopped going there long back because of shit crowd.

People just want to preach about "Swacch Bharat Abhiyan" don't want to practise it. They will throw garbage on the roadside or may be dump it in the nearby sewers (because it is convenient) which causes waterlogging during rains and then crib about it and blame the government.

I understand that every city has its pros and cons. Even the city that I live now has some unwanted and arrogant pricks but people have some social responsibility, some civic sense and follow traffic rules up to a certain extent, but yes, you are right...Lucknow doesn't feel like home anymore. That charm is long gone. It was bound to happen and it is happening at a pace faster than what we anticipated.

Three languages is unnecessary burden on the kids and it serves no real life purpose. There is definitely a sly agenda here and if they really care about students future, they should focus on improving the existing quality of teaching, infrastructure and accessibility than imposing a dumb third language.

The whole thing reeks of a dark motive.
