It wasn't ego. The guys chasing happen to be part of the dept. that penalizes individuals that have not paid custom duties on an imported vehicle. The vehicle they are after happens to be one such vehicle. The method implemented by those govt. individuals is questionable though.

**Using hazards in poor visibility is wrong.**

**Red light is visible the most** in poor conditions as it refracts the least, has a longer wavelength. Blinking amber lights, take away attention one's attention from the brake light, and you won't realize when the motorist in front of you brakes/slows down, and you may ram into them.

**Also, the tail/brake light is always a much brighter/powerful bulb than the hazards** and is ought to be more visible than the hazards.

And if someone stops on the road, and has their blinkers on, you won't be able to judge whether that vehicle is moving or not. One should turn on the hazards only if one stops on the road, or when there's something wrong, or if there's a hazard or an emergency. They're called hazards for a reason.

You won't be able to tell if a vehicle is turning right or left either, hazards get priority over indicators.

**Always use fog lights (front and rear) if your vehicle has them. Use low beams if you don't have front fog lights. Fog lights alone provide better visibility than low beams on the front, as they are mounted lower, don't reflect back onto the driver, and illuminate the road instead of being reflected back.**

It gives them the appearance of impartiality.
