It’s a very usual scam in the west where scammers from India especially from Kolkata reach the people saying that they are representing Microsoft or Amazon and they some breached security or unknowingly ordered worth so and so ….
Eventually victim follow steps so that they think they can reverse the whole situation. Instead they are scammed more by Walmart gift cards and google play redeem cards. They mostly target the oldies who are not much aware of the techs.


Sad to see it happening here. As OP said, stay safe and try to create awareness about how basically scam might happen to your parents
