I know someone who was naive and posted more than 4000 traffic violations on BTP’s Public Eye app, only to get a mob of “educated” Bengaluru residents at their doorstep ready to beat TF outta them. When they called the police for deescalating and protecting them, the police officials caved in to the mob and ended up siding with the mob.

Turns out some of the people with violations were members so some sort of Women’s Rights Sangha. And these respectable /s women now made allegations that, they were not recording violations but, taking pics of women.

They now made this not about vigilant citizens recording traffic violations but, about taking pics ( in public roads) of women.

As long as we have people like them to blatantly make false allegations, no amount of good intentions to better the world will go unpunished.
