Hey everyone,

I'm currently building a startup focused on students. I’ve found some student developers to help code the MVP, but I’m facing challenges with their commitment. While they seem interested in contributing part-time, they’re often unresponsive; sometimes taking 2 days to reply to messages. They’ve also canceled meetings last minute, and one hasn’t signed the NDA I sent.

I’m starting to think it might be better to go solo and hire a freelancer to get the MVP done. I’ve saved enough money to make this happen, and I can handle sales and traction myself. I’ve already collected great feedback from student surveys, and my goal is to finish the MVP by April to align with students’ summer break.

The ultimate plan is to apply to YC with some traction and potentially meet a cofounder there. I’m someone who values progress over perfection, and this slow pace is frustrating.

Has anyone faced similar challenges with part-time collaborators? Should I move forward with a freelancer, or is there a better way to manage this situation?
