I don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing. On one side the fare is reduced so it’s good. But since hiking of prices were viewed too steep I wasn’t expecting any more price increase atleast for the next 5 to 6 years. But since they made this namesake fare slash there is a good chance that prices will be increased again in the near future even more than the previous fare rate.

To those people who grew up in cities, this might shock you. But rural Tamilnadu is different. There are different preference and variations within Tamilnadu itself.

In villages around my district Namakkal, duck quail rabbit pork are eaten regularly, but lesser than chicken and mutton. Just like how Chennai eats fish.

I remember from childhood, instances of people eating rats, cats etc. It must have started during famine years I guess. Monitor Lizard, porcupine, squirrel, pigeon, civets, wild cats, are not unheard of. I remember from childhood times (80s) hearing about people hunting and steaming bats. It got phased out after poultry farming grew leaps. .

Your suggestions are right but why do you think govt is not doing that. Govt is already planning how not to spoil the situation and reduction on tariffs for US imports are already started.

Also, tariffs on giants like China, Canada and EU will ultimately open routes for Indian export (given we are equipped with right potential and competitive items). Govt is planning to leverage it.
