You think racism is the main culprit for a lot of people wanting a seperate country. Most of the people in northeast have not left their own state to face such racism. No my friend it's the lack of representation, lack of development and the fear of losing their unique cultural identity and ethnicity due to the constant imposition of alien culture, yes mainland culture is alien to us. We are treated like a foreign territory rather than an Indian state. No one gives a fuck about what happens to our side of the world. We are never going to be mainstream in our country most of India doesn't know we exist. Our problems are ignored constantly look at Manipur for example. Would this kind of uncontrolled communal violence could have happened in any Indian mainland States. I don't necessarily support seperatism but I can pretty well understand why such ideas arise.
