California awards women permanent alimony after ten years of marriage. Men are routinely ordered to financially support a healthy woman in her 30s for the rest of her life. That goes well beyond what is needed to uphold her personal freedom.


Why do I use gendered language? Around 95% of alimony payers are men. To not use gendered language would be to misrepresent the truth of the situation.
