Seems he violated a brahmin woman which if you were a common person required a capital punishment but if you were a noble, it still required imprisonment. He was very upset that Shivaji imprisoned him for this crime and that is why he defected to Diler Khan. That being said the moment Panhala fort was captured, the Mughals turned around and put him in jail. He had to fight his way out and regain control of Panhala and also fight his way to the throne. What i love about him was that by almost all accounts he insulted not only the emperor but also their prophet. This was unthinkable in those times. Nobody can take this away from him. BTW if you find this in your Maharashtra board textbook i will give you a million dollars.
