I have a very different take on this , I was wondering few days back that why is uttrakhand the only state to not have a regional party at helm for the first government (still a record)
The reason I think is lack of bounding language , we are good people , more ethical I think than rest of India , good in education, give a lot of defence personnel. So there is nothing wrong with our intellect.
The problem is any state which lacks a binding language will not know how to differentiate between their own and outsiders , now the situation is so bad that all the pahadi youngsters are marrying out of state whether it is male or female.
I'll give you an example , my mamaji lives in Bombay and he told me he met a pokhriyal (pahadi brahmin) a few days back and that guy didn't even fuckin know that he comes from which region of uttrakhand. That guy's grandfather came in his teens to Bombay and that's it within 2 generation his lineage forgot their roots.
The propagation of language and culture is very poor in pahadis , we leave our land and never to be seen again. And you look at any other culture it's not the case they still hold on to some of the values . Biharis still celebrate chath even if they are in Melbourne but how many garhwali/kumaoni have seen celebrating phulera and harela ?
The reason? Well pride, politics and strategy you name it but all of this comes when you define who a pahadi is , a value system, our culture , our language, our freedom struggle, the atrocities which happened to our people in mulayam rule. Teach it to your children , your cousins , your family , vocalize , revolution starts right at your home.
Yes we are not dehatis , we will not burn buses , that is not in us , but what we can do is simply
Educate , agitate and organize.

We just need to fix one thing. Only one thing, REAL ESTATE. Real estate can absorb unlimited black money, which has become a tool for all immoral activities. If we can connect all existing land to a person's aadhar and assess individuals'worth. Then it's done. A person holding say 2 acres of prime land can't say I am poor and I need govt assistance.
