(MOST OF) Himachal and Haryana were never part of Punjab historically, they were mushed together as part of it by the British

Punjab has always been the 5 rivers + the 2 border rivers, the Saraswati and the Indus. Following the Saraswati's path, there are some parts of Haryana (Sirsa and Puadh) and Rajasthan (Sri Ganganagar) which are part of geographical Punjab but they are small regions.

There are also some parts of J&K (Jammu region) and Himachal (southern area) which are part of this. But the people there generally don't like to get lumped in with Punjab, from my experience.

Hmm it happened in 2022 in Delhi and there was no news about any action being taken on them.
