Maha Shivaratri - this is dedicated to Shiva and mirrors closely to Indian celebrations.

Indrajatra - a celebration of Infra and also includes their "Living Goddess" Kumari. There isn't an Indian equivalent.

Holi - quite similar to India festival and celebrated Lords Vishnu, Krishna, and Radha.

If you are into sports, you apps like Sporthood to meet random people for football, cricket, badminton etc.

Every time I read one of these stories, I'm at an utter loss that there are enough of these people to decide elections.
