Government should specifically cooperate with them loudly rather than isolating them by calling terrorists or khalistanis and suppressing protests silently once again. There might be some middle grounds on which both the sides may agree upon. Otherwise, it would be nothing just fuling extremism in the region and making separatists win again. Nobody wanna continue the farming business other than a small minority of them. Providing education and non farming job creation might help to move people out of farming which is necessary. But currently trends are kinda opposite where people are going back to agriculture.

This is pathetic. There are hundreds of girl students protesting for increased safety measures in the most prestigious university of the state. AU's response has been lukewarm - setting up a committee would hardly solve any of the problems. That's just senior management rescuing themselves from accountability. There's no shortage of committees that every government/institution sets up after something like this happens, but the committee's recommendations are either not made public or not implemented in full measure. What's the purpose of the committee then?

The 'demonstrations' by the students claiming that they are safe cannot be considered genuine however you look at it. Even if they are in fact safe, what is the purpose of this now? Why are they trying to save the face of the government? Desperate PR attempt that just dents the government's image further. People are certainly not going fall for this stunt.

This is extremely heart breaking. A survivor's family gathering courage to show up and report it to the police station itself is commendable given the massive underreporting scenario in India. Beating them up like this is unfortunately only going worsen reporting of sexual harassment/assault cases if police continue to show hostility like this.

Law and Order situation has definitely been not upto the mark in the recent years. It's not only about the numbers, but more importantly how the cases are dealt with once reported. Delayed procedures, harassing the reporters, opaqueness in progress of the case does affect the perception of their credibility.

Agreed. Like the concept and the fact that it will be limited episodes. Wasn't impressed with Gauhar's acting. Will give the next episode a try, otherwise might skip her scenes if the story is good. Overall, I hope they are successful so that this attracts other/better TV actors to such projects.
