Jury nullification remains a huge issue. In a country with rampant inequality and discrimination this would institutionalize systematic discrimination, like the USA for a long long time through the judicial system.

The judicial system in India is unique in the sense that it allows for independence of judges in appointments, and wide powers. Plus, our system doesn't believe in exemplary damages, but nominal so even in the private law field, the Indian judiciary is meant not to be a for profit endeavour but a justice seeking one, this gets hampered by a jury system unless a statute prevents jury orders from exceeding a particular limit as damages in disputes.

Didn’t like this dude from day one. Even though I tried to watch his videos thinking this many subscribers he has, there’ll be something. But I just couldn’t. His style with extra butteriness and all didn’t go well with me.

Once, I booked an Uber auto, and the driver decided to take a different route despite me repeatedly saying no. He had all sorts of excuses, so I recorded the entire thing, including me clearly saying I wasn’t okay with it. When we finally reached the destination, I had to pay an extra 100. When I reached out to Uber customer care, they said the extra charge was because the route covered more distance, and they couldn’t do anything about it even though I told them I wasn’t comfortable during the journey. I followed up for days, reaching out to Uber customer care multiple times, but they didn’t do a thing about it. These days, if a driver tries that, I usually ask them to stop and get off, though that’s not really an option at night. Honestly, most auto drivers are aholes.
