this is my take: very few people including comedians actually understand it. Comedians are professionals and they might pull it off but the problem is it makes every other guy on the internet think that they can do it too. This leads to the toxic unfunny and just plain rude comments you see all over the internet.

I would hire contractors as I don’t need to manage the payroll and stuff. And only pay on milestone. Like I do with my agency Sitemile.com we take on bigger projects and have meetings two times a week with the customer presenting updates. Once the milestone has been reached it gets paid.

They themselves countered their argument? They say wear less clothes but when women wear burkhas or suits, they're still raped so ultimately what they mean is don't go out altogether- stay at home. Make it make sense. Also, comparing a luxury like rolex with basic human necessity and dignity is shameful.

At my company I actually officially get to be an inventor after filing a patent and then having it be granted, I get a license plate cover for my car and a cool jacket. Plus a few thousand bucks every time I do it.

Invention has nothing to do with commercialization of something. I've invented many many things that are worthless and not patent worthy.

For the purposes of a resume/cv, I do have a small list of US patent numbers. I would refrain from using the term "inventor" on a resume without some patent numbers to back it up. (if not on a resume, I don't care, feel free)

I have a lot of stuff I write and I've never referred to myself as a maker or inventor. I mostly stick with "hobbyist" in my writing.

If you want to identify as a maker, go for it. It sounds correct.
