You seem a bit confused in what you want. You mentioned you want a technical cofounder to set things up more scalable. Their response is to rewrite the code that Cursor has written, which you acknowledge is messy. Wouldn't it be logical to rebuild it from scratch in the right way, to make it scalable to begin with?

I think most engineers at this point will use some form of AI for assistance. Keep in mind though that building a prototype or basic MVP from scratch is something else from building out and maintaining a growing codebase. Tools like cursor are still notoriously bad at that and have a tendency to mess things that were working well before. It takes much more than a few prompts to make that work as a process.

That brings me the next point. At some point, you are going to have to trust your engineer with the choices he's going to make. Like I said most will use AI in some form or another. But you can't prescribe them to use Cursor, thinking that's the tool for the job, because in reality, you dont know.

Other than that you have freedom in how you want to offer things. Whether your offer gets accepted, is something else. If you have cash to offer, things change lf course, and you don't have to offer a third in that case. If no cash, I think equal splits is the way to go.

You are worried about your cofounder leaving with 33%. That is something that you need to address for all founders to be honest, including yourself. What if you leave after one year and leave your cofounders behind?

Bottom line,.treat the cofounders the same at this point. You don't have enough traction to do otherwise. The main lever you have (maybe) is yes / no cash. If someone receives cash , you can offer less equity in return. If not, just make it equal spits with equal vesting.

Best way is to find an online course to get the basics. If you have patience for a book, then good.

Tamil has one of the worst cases of something called diglossia. The spoken version and tye written formal version are very different. If you want to learn the spoken version. Best is to start watching Tamil movies with subtitles after you learn the basics. If you want to learn the formal written version, you should start reading Tamil newspapers and start listening to Tamil news channels.
