Kalyan jewellers - a overhated but interesting stock

Before I continue I will interate I have this stock from 100 levels, I know most of you will downvote it mostly and it's fine but I had to make sure that retailers are not getting screwed over by rumours and fake news Over the past month kalyan has gone down 35% from its peak , many are calling it names pump and dump and what not, even abusing motilal oswal who got the stock at 350 (an entry which according to me will never come again) The allegations...

Tell me your best earning stocks in last one year and what was thought process while buying it?

My Stock Market Experience When I buy stocks, I first look at key metrics like market capitalization, price-to-earnings ratio, and recent news, especially about new orders or developments related to the stock. After this analysis, I rely on my instincts to make a final decision. While I often make profits, there are times when I incur losses. However, over the last six months, my losses have outweighed my gains. One stock where I had an interesting experience was Waaree Energies. My Journey with Waaree Energies I initially invested in...

Post transfer of shares from demat to demat

This is about what to do after the transfer of shares from one demat to another. I'm thinking of moving from Groww to Zerodha due to the increased brokerage on Groww. I searched and found that the average price of the stocks and purchase history doesn't carry over. Now I wanted to ask if brokers give you the option to do so. I found [this](https://support.zerodha.com/category/console/portfolio/holdings/articles/how-to-update-buy-average) for Zerodha, and even with this, can we enter multiple transactions for the same stock (purchase on different dates). If anyone has done this...

Where to keep money for the medium-term trading?

I understand that liquidity is king in the market, one metric which I always try to optimise is buying power reduction. However, keeping cash brings a different set of challenges in that I do not get any interest on this ideal money (my broker provides zero interest, my bank IMPS limit is 2L & UPI is 50k; moreover, CASA interest for my bank is 2.9% so I will not prefer to keep it in my bank account). The easiest way to earn interest on ideal money is to buy...

How can I select better stocks for long term and short term?

I am new to trading and investing. Recently I started using Zerodha, but since I am new to this whole thing, I haven't got a clue on how to choose better stocks or how to know if the stocks I chose are going to perform better. This is why I need the help of people who are **experienced** or **somewhat experienced** in this field. The questions I have are: **LONG TERM:** 1. How to choose better stocks for the long term? (by long term, I mean 4-5 yrs) 2. How and what to...

Why are most Large caps in the same price range for the last 3-4 years even though their revenue and profit has almost doubled?

Eg: Hdfc, kotak, asian paints, bajaj finance, indusind bank, hinduatan uniliver etc etc etc Is it because there is less interest to buy these or because the big institutions are keeping them in a range and making money by swing trades?

The Best Procedure for Option Trading (in My Opinion)

Before executing an option trade, here's the procedure I always follow to ensure I'm making informed decisions: 1. Check Price Action Around Support and Resistance Always observe where the price is—near support or resistance levels. 2. Analyze Open Interest (OI) Data Look at the OI data around those support/resistance levels to gauge market sentiment. This helps me decide whether the price might respect or break those levels. 3. Identify Chart or Candle Patterns Check for any chart or candlestick patterns forming. This can give insights into potential price movement....

Your Take on Hyundai India Stock?

I understand this stock has largely been forgotten after its underwhelming IPO performance. Despite multiple AMC firms providing coverage and setting a target price of 2300–2400, the stock couldn’t even touch its issue price. With new EV launches expected at the Expo 2025, what’s your take on Hyundai’s IPO? The 1960 level seemed fully priced to me, but the 1750–1770 range felt like a decent entry point. There’s a support level at 1746 and resistance at 1800, 1857, and 1900. Being a debt-free company, its financials look solid (although...

Is India Stuck in Slow Growth Because of Tax Tai?

China and India both grew by 5.4% last quarter, but let’s be real—China’s economy is at $18 trillion, and we’re still stuck at $4 trillion. At this rate, we’re never going to catch up. It’s frustrating because our fiscal and monetary policies seem more focused on holding us back than pushing us forward. We’re stuck in this slow growth cycle, and it’s tough to see a way out. So, what can we do to break free from this cycle? How do we shift gears and start accelerating our growth?...

    Doubt on long term investing

They usually say buy on dip. How is this dip calculated? Say one stock falls 10% in 1 month or 2 months. Now is it the dip? Is there any specific value of dip you follow? In percentage terms I try to buy only when the stock has eroded 10% from my buy value… not 10% market fall… because of this most of the time I don’t buy the stock and the value rises after… so like how to go about it. The thing is, most of my portfolio...

Seeking insights on Kalyan Jewellers: Hold or exit strategy?

I recently invested in Kalyan Jewellers, expecting strong performance due to the Indian wedding season, which typically drives gold and jewelry sales. My decision was based on their extensive retail presence, the cultural demand for gold, and Kalyan’s reputation as a trusted brand. However, the stock has been falling significantly, making me question whether this is just short-term volatility or a sign of deeper issues like weak fundamentals, intense competition, or operational challenges. For those familiar with this stock or the jewelry industry, is there reason to believe a...
