Being a Bear is a very interesting experience Unlike Bulls,Bears don’t get a long time to make decent returns, Bulls get more opportunities in a growing market like India for obvious reasons. But when Bears do get opportunities to make money, man does our patience gets rewarded handsomely. The months or sometimes years that we have to wait for a strong correction,we end up making atleast 50-100% on every OTM puts within 10-15 mins with every big downward directional move. I’m personally a Bear not by choice but just because of circumstances. Buying OTM PUTS is way cheaper than... 5 0 replies

Gold ETFs - Should I invest right now or after 31st March 2025? I've been planning to invest in Gold ETFs but I came across this report on how Gold ETFs are taxed at (I wasn't aware about it before on how the the taxation work here) So this report says, if I invest before 31st March 2025, all my gains will be taxed as per the tax rates based on my income slab. But if I invest after 31st March 2025, it'll be taxed how other equity mutual funds are taxed at which is 12.5% for LTCG (after 12 months). So... 5 0 replies
Info Edge (India),Highly overvalued or fairly valued? A Case Study….Kinda I’m having a very difficult time in understanding the valuation of this company. On one hand, its PE ratio is extremely high. (PE is >180) On the other hand, the business model of this company is all about growth. Few companies that they own are as follows:- 1.Naukri.com 2.Shaddi.com 3.Shiksha.com 4.99acres.com Now the funny thing is since they’re all service based companies, they don’t really have much of a MOAT but they’re all either the market leaders or top 3 in their respective industries. They also have a major stake in... 2 0 replies

What's up with Swan Defence (Reliance Naval formerly)? Swan Defence which was earlier known as Reliance Naval was recently reinstated into NSE/BSE and trading was resumed after a period of 1.5 years. This was after Swan Group took over the company from Reliance. Now earlier it's share price was Rs 1-2 and I was owning quite a few shares(in thousands) . And when the trading resumed it showcased the same number of shares, however after a day or two suddenly in my demat it showed that there were only 89-90 shares of swan defence. In two separate... 3 0 replies

I feel comfortable to short Under the heavy influence of gravity, here the phrases "what goes up must come down" many a time, and the general deer (apprehensive) mindset in the stock market I feel very comfortable to short equities in intraday. Many a times I have left bullish positions which showed clear signs of going up because I don't know what kind of bears are lurking behind making the LTP peak of the bull run. Shorting is very easy unless done towards the end of the day. What was going down will sink... 5 1 replies
Cash secured put and Covered calls - Wheeler We coming new to investment from the tech ai background.. Ive written a small script which does the automatic scanning of all stocks and tells where the best buys are .. https://preview.redd.it/3imi8yic2ohe1.png?width=1231&format=png&auto=webp&s=cb989347e63bd261e1117b92bbfb7f796e592bc8 It shows that Wipro short put is not so bad though the volumes are less. If the stock gets assigned, we have some discount and if not, we keep the premium. Downside is that if the stock goes really down.. Thats risk/reward IMO and these are Nifty stocks. Congratulate me. I just gave up day trading. I started day trading in July with a capital of 20k. That allowed me to trade with 1 lakh. I had been on sidelines for years but wanted to check this off the bucket list. Till today morning, 10:30 I have lost 9k. 4k since start of this year. I do reasonable research, look at 5 and 20 day crossover and follow candlesticks. I have been an accountant in the past and understanding the research wasn't too difficult. Maybe some can make a profit but I can't. There are... 3 2 replies
What's your take on Matrimony? The way I see it, it's a cash cow. I mean, there aren't many competitors besides Shaadi and a few others. Indians spend crazy amounts on their weddings, so they wouldn't mind paying a premium for matrimony services. That's obvious—it’s about choosing the best possible life partner. Matrimony also has a premium segment where they charge ₹50K+—kind of like a matchmaking service for celebrities and the wealthy. I think even the upper middle class would opt for that. However, their recent quarterly results have been disappointing, and even their... 4 0 replies

Thoughts on NCC I have not done any great analysis but I have been reviewing it for 10 months. It was quite a hot topic back than but now nobody thinks of it. It has fallen below that price, if I am not wrong it is 210 right now. I know that it has missed its eps target that's why that steep 10% decline but what is its future potential? Is it going to make a comeback or fall back? 4 0 replies
