How important is worldwide patents? I am planning to start a company to develop, produce and sell a new product in the hiking category. The product does currently not exist in any form, and if patented and design protected I should have monopoly on the whole market (estimated to 1 million units sold at 100 USD a piece within 5 years after launch). 1 Year Cliff 4 Year Vest So, I understand what this is and what it means… but what I am a little flaky about is how this works with cofounders. For example: to incorporate a business in the UK, you have to create the initial shares and assign who they belong to. So we have that. But a founders agreement will include a 1 year cliff 4 year vest, so we don’t get shares until after year 1. But we already have the shares, because we needed to set up the company legally. Building the same product as a YC startup, should I be worried? Im over half way through building my MVP. I just found a YC (W24) funded startup that does the same thing and grew to 3M in rev in 6 months from launch. Should I be worried or should I use this as market validation? Need help! Why are there new signups, but almost nobody has started the free trial? We offer a SaaS tool for businesses that want to identify who has visited their site.
