Christmas calm 🎄

It's funny how there's been no recent shooting from the hills. Incessant shooting during the last week of October and first week of November during our festivities. And the time of paddy harvesting. It was sad how badly our farmers had to endure, on top of low yield of crops. It's all quite now. Wish this Christmas laze & calm would continue. Merry Christmas to those that celebrate.

I stumbled upon this sub and lost track of time. I’m from down south(TN) and my knowledge of NE India is very limited. Going through the many posts here - it’s a huge culture shock for me. NE is unique and how, it’s mind boggling. So the different states are composed of various tribes. Even surprised to see some of you differentiate between ’mainland’ India. The root cause of inflation in Manipur.

Terrorists are forcing drivers to pay illegal taxes on highways, and it’s causing prices of goods to go way up. Transporters have to pay these taxes and then charge us more, so now we’re paying double for basic things. It’s so frustrating because the government isn’t doing anything to stop this. How can they just sit back and let this happen? People are struggling to afford daily needs while these criminals keep making things worse. Why isn’t the government stepping in to fix this problem?
