New scam(or not). Beware of online housing rental websites. Found a 1BHK apartment ad on 99acres for 15K in DLF New Town Heights. When I contacted the listed number, I was asked for ID proof and a refundable 3K to create a visitor pass. The amount would be deducted from the first month’s rent if I moved in or refunded within 20 minutes otherwise. Suspicious, I visited the DLF office and learned it’s a common scam.
