Convert CUSAT'S school of engineering (SOE) (and other STEM depts) to an IIT like IT-BHU was made into an IIT. 1) We are not industrialized and can't produce at scale like TN or MH. Hence completely skip that step in our economic transformation and jump to service/technology/knowledge economy. This seems like the establishment's idea 2) Infrastructure push is all good and important. But we wont be a knowledge economy unless we pivot towards research and development in STEM fields. 3) our universities are pretty bad when it comes to research in STEM.
