    Bryan adams experience

For people who attended bryan adams concert, how was it? I missed it and would love to know everyone’s experience. I can still make it at Hyderabad if the experience was worth it.

    Mandarin learners' community in Bangalore

Hi all fellow Chinese learners. Wanted to know what are some activities/meetups going on for Chinese learners in Bangalore. Is there something like Alliance Française or Goethe institut here? Any meetups that happen regularly? I would like to join (Hsk-3, simplified). If not, can we try to make one? Want to know how your learning is going on, how are you giving certification exams, practicing irl, what dialect, what apps, what books etc, lots of questions. Waiting to hear great responses.

    A girl got electrocuted

At the flea market on Sobha Church Street, I was browsing through the stalls when I saw something truly heartbreaking. A young girl, probably around 10 or 12 years old, was holding onto one of the metal bars of a stall when she suddenly screamed and collapsed after being electrocuted. A man at the stall quickly pulled her away, and about five minutes later she finally regained consciousness. Seeing her struggle and her parents crying for help was devastating. I felt so helpless, but thankfully, the people around stepped...

The truckers on NICE Road make it very dangerous for other smaller vehicles!

It's a two lane highway(one direction) with one additional lane for bikes. Ideally, trucks and other heavy vehicles should stay on the left lane and allow other faster vehicles to make use of the right lane. But half of the trucks still drive on the right lane. They cannot overtake each other easily hence creating blockakges for cars. Cars have to either zig-zag between the lanes or make use of the bike lane. It's pretty scary tbh when your cab driver is changing lanes, sandwiched between two trucks at...

Spitting on people walking on footpath

Today someone was spat on while walking. A couple of 2-3 teens/adults on a bike was driving close to the footpath around 7pm in Richmond town area, a bit front of the park. Is the culture and values that your parents gave you?? This person is relatively new to Bangalore and does not even know anyone to make enemies. I mean seriously if your a teen does not mean no laws apply to you. You can go to jail FYI. Don't think you can roam around streets creating chaos....

How to Legally Protect My Mother from an Abusive Father

Hi everyone, I’m reaching out here because I’m in a desperate situation and need advice. My father has been mentally and physically abusive towards my mother for over 25 years. She tried leaving him once, but he threatened to harm her family, and she returned out of fear. Recently, he came to my place in Bangalore, and after a huge fight, I threw him out and told him never to come back. My mother is now living with me, but when she went back to Mumbai briefly for some...

How is this legal? Why is it blocked from public access?

This is 19th Cross Rd near Max HSR, opposite to Chai point and Theobroma. I find security guards, probably a private company, guarding this road 24/7. There is also a traffic board which says No Entry except residents and the road the blocked with HSR Layout police station barricades. How is this road special? Any Idea?

    Terrible encounter with a Kannadiga

I’m (M29) from Haryana here in Bangalore working in Central Government body since January of this year. This evening I went to Zudio HSR along with my girlfriend who is from the North East. I was patiently standing at the billing counter waiting for my turn to get my items billed while my girlfriend was behind me looking at the miscellaneous accessories. Out of nowhere, a guy, who was with his daughter and wife, came up from behind and wanted to cut me off for the billing. I stopped...

Moving to Marathahalli - Need Advice on Chinnapanahalli vs. AECS Layout (Water Situation!)

Hey r/bangalore! **TLDR;** Moving to Marathahalli (near Kalamandir) for work. Considering renting in Chinnapanahalli or AECS Layout to avoid bad traffic on Chinnapanahalli Main Road. Chinnapanahalli landlords claim reliable Kaveri water, no tankers needed. AECS Layout has Kaveri but mentions potential tanker use and costs. Need advice on water reliability in both areas, traffic, and overall which is better, and if I am missing to consider any area? **Main Post:** I recently landed a job with an office in Marathahalli (near Kalamandir) and I'm starting the hunt for a place...

    Want to learn Kannada

Hey guys, I am a 2nd year MBA student and I am moving to Blr next year for my job and I would like to learn Kannada. Would ideally want it for free but if the fees is not too high, I believe I can make it work. PS: I have always wanted to learn a regional language, this has nothing to do with the alleged language issues in Karnataka.

    Auto driver appreciation post

Today, I hired an ola auto. I was rushing for an office lunch. I had no one tie to my bracelet on my right hand as i live alone. And i could not find anyone on my way to the corridor. I was like, okay what to do and asked the auto bro whether he could help me tie the bracelet on my right hand. He did not even hesitate, immediately helped me with full focus. Small things like this make the world go round. Little appreciation and silly...

Would people e willing to respond to a small survey regarding the metro?

Good evening everyone! I apologize if this is not proper etiquette for the sub, or if I am doing something wrong here, but I was hoping people could fill in a survey regarding the Bangalore metro. It is for a research paper that I am working on, so it would mean a lot if you guys could take a minute out of your day to fill the form. Hope everyone has a good day!
