The city is in desperate need of third spaces I left my house yesterday, 25 December, to do some shopping for an event coming soon. Big mistake. I was on road for more than 4 hours. The roads to Phoenix Mall of Asia were jammed and when I backed out of the area to travel elsewhere like Orion Mall, it was horrendous. The amount of people in the mall was insane. Saw a Woman get harrased by miscreants in broad daylight in Byrathi I was driving towards Mallika biryani in Byrathi. Near Shoba supermarket, three chappri like looking men who were riding a Dio, slowed down, came close to a woman who just sat on her scooter. Bangalore traffic is THAT bad I am a local and I’ve always defended Bangalore infrastructure whenever someone lashed out at it. Swiggy/Zomato riders on Yulu I’m so done with these food delivery guys zipping around on their Yulu bikes! In just 10 minutes of driving home today, I almost crashed into two of them. These bikes don’t have any proper safety features, no indicators, and the riders act like no one else exists on the road. They randomly turn, stop right in the middle of the street, or just pop out of nowhere! There seriously needs to be some rules to control this mess. Restaurants Using Plastic Wrappers for Steaming Hot Idlis I recently noticed something really concerning at a local restaurant. They were steaming hot idlis wrapped in plastic! I’m not sure if they’re doing it to keep the shape intact or for convenience, but it feels so wrong on so many levels. First off, isn’t this unsafe? Frustrated with behaviour of transgenders I’m really frustrated and angry about a recurring issue in Bengaluru. There are some transgender individuals who randomly board trains or walk into restaurants and start asking for money. What’s worse is that they don’t even ask properly — they just put their hands into people’s pockets without permission and take whatever money they find. Why is there so much traffic near Rajajinagar-Yeshwanthpur- mattikere road today? I’m a frequent traveler of the Yeshwanthpur to Yelahanka route but never have I seen SO much traffic in my life. Traffic is increasing and it's concerning 😟 Today at around 6:15 I reached the yeshwantpur market in my car and it took me 1 hour to reach the yeshwantpur bus stand. I was dropping my mother to her bus which leaves at 7 from the same bus stand.
