Elon Musk wielded a chainsaw on stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday and drew instant ridicule online.

The power tool had earlier been gifted to Musk by Argentine President Javier Milei, a fellow public spending slasher. It was inscribed with the phrase “Viva la libertad, carajo,” which is Spanish for “Long live liberty, damn it.”

Musk, who President [Donald Trump](https://www.huffpost.com/news/topic/donald-trump) has charged with gutting the government through the unofficial Department of Government Efficiency, called it the “chainsaw for bureaucracy.”

Critics, though, called the stunt “cringe AF” and much more.

This has happened to me several times with both Ola and Uber. I book a ride and wait for the cab to arrive, only to notice that the driver’s location doesn’t move an inch from their last position. After calling them multiple times to ask when they’ll reach me, I’m usually met with the same questions: 'Where’s the drop-off location?' and 'What’s the payment mode?' Even when I tell them I’ll pay in cash, more often than not, these drivers refuse the ride, claiming the displayed fare is far lower than what they deserve for the trip.

In many cases, I’ve asked them to cancel the ride, but they drag their feet on the request, wasting my time. By the time the ride is finally canceled—either by them or me—I receive a notification about a ₹51 cancellation charge. I’ve always disputed these incidents with the customer care team and managed to get the cancellation fee waived.

One thing I’ve learned and stick to: never pay the fare in advance. Don’t do it!
