Karaniner Elements can remap 🌐/fn key combos. I just did it recently, but one snag I hit was that when defining the fn key for rebind the online "config builder" uses a different definition for the fn key, which I assume applies to 3rd party keyboard's FN key. The Apple fn key has a different name internally, but once I figured it out my binds all work.

You can also rebind on a per-app basis which is nice - safari for example uses a ton of non-modifiable shortcuts that were overriding my standard "Hyper" modifier key scheme (rebind caps locks to act as my own dedicated modifier (ctrl+opt+command) with shift acting as another shelf of hotkeys on too top of that)

The only snag ive hitten is that occasionally ill fat finger a shortcut and almost simultaneously hit 2 modifier keys at once and itll get recognized as the real key and not the remapped one. I think there might be some slight latency between actual keypress and karabiners intercepting the keycode, and they wisely decided its better to miss an intercept than have every keypress be blocking until it can intercepted

Okay, my question was precisely why the two sites I'm dealing with suffered the same symptoms as your site, in the same way as many others reported. However, these two sites that I am dealing with had an exploit installed that were generating spam traffic that was not identified until Google was penalized on the same day.
