Hangout at ecr and Mahabalipuram side since it’s very near to thiruvanmiyur. It’s a rich people’s locality and people are good. 5 minutes away from beach . See sunrise every weekend , seaside restaurants are famous, easily bond over beer, cricket and cinema. Chennai People love Himachal and mountains since they’re from sea town. Surfing, Sailing , kayaking , go karting , you can try everything and also live a laid back life similar to Himachal but definitely not that slow. Most importantly people are kinder than any metros. It’s either you love it or hate it, no in between.

Faced a similar issue in Colva, rode back from North to South, Highways were suggested by Google Maps, I was almost blinded by the high beams on the highway, Roads didn't have proper lighting. As i entered Colva, I felt relieved that the traffic was gone, but there were still no lights on the internal road.

As soon as i saw a circle with a light, now this is supposed to be the main road which connects to the beach, accidentally took a wrong turn, a concerned local came to thee rescue with agression as if i had murdered someone, started scolding me in the middle of the road.

Told him ki "bhai pyaar se baat karo maine koi gunaah nahi kiya hai, dikha nahi isiliye galti se ghus gaya" but bro was high on testosterone it seems. He was standing in the middle of the road creating a nuisance himself.

Mann mein aaya ki local hai karke udd raha hai, area mein hota toh dikha dete ki pyaar se baat kaise kii jaati hai.

Bottom line stop stereotyping tourists. Not all are in Goa to drink and do drugs, some of us a actually searching a place to relax with good food and atmosphere.
