You cannot use the index as a baseline for your investment decisions. If any stocks are at your value comfort zone, you can invest in it and be prepared to have further drawdowns. If you fear drawdowns, invest at intervals or at different price points. Essentially you cannot catch bottoms and you cannot sit on cash waiting for opportunities - because you don't know when markets will reverse or dip further.

For an experienced investor, you would be actively deploying or may have even fully deployed by now and won't bother with drawdowns. For more conservative investors, you would be investing in chunks and always have some liquidity to deploy more if markets correct.

If you are not sure of individual stocks, now is a great time to invest in etfs with less risks of steep drawdowns. In the end your own investment philosophy and risk tolerance should decide your decisions.
