But good means the intentions behind it, which can be bad so they aren't good for you, example some relatives.
Vice versa is some friends who arent nice but are good for you because they don't have bad intentions but may behave oddly with you.

Someone is either nicer for you or not, it depends because it can change frequently , but if they are good or not, you can get this idea with time because this pattern will show you their true colors.
