I think a fair person would answer even more favorably for the latter. Even if you anecdotally suspect (rightly or wrongly) that it may have hindered you, it could still be an overall good.

But I think our bitter regressives will likely take the opposite view. Even if it never hindered them, and almost no one else thinks it hindered them either, it's still bad. Because reasons / minority resentment / "meritocracy." I am hard-pressed to believe only 21% of Republicans would say "DEI bad" given the chance.
