In my desire to get closer to Hinduism i have encountered several difficulties that i am now going to expose to you
1. Well not much can be done if you dont have enough hindu institutions in your city. It's only been a little over 100 years since Hindus started building their temples/centers across the world and there's still a lot to cover. Also as you said most Hindus arent thinking about spreading their religon, they usually move for job/education lol. Books, lectures of a good Guru (I like Swami Sarvapriyananda) and having a puja room at home can help for now.
2. No lol idk who told about the letter stuff. Just start practicing for now and as you dive deep and get connected to a spiritual tradition of your choice, The Guru can initiate you in accordance with the rituals they follow in order to get you closer to the religion.
3. No, Sanskrit is important for liturgy and hence Hindus tend to have sanskrit name but its not a theological necessity. You're free to keep your name which might be important for you.
4. No jatis are just regional communities which developed with time in history. Some of the popular jatis didnt exist a few hundred years ago yet their forefathers were still hindu. You dont need it.
Welcome and goodluck with your journey! -

Technically I’m more successful than them because I got my ged so. Pretty terrible. Blame the parents but don’t hold it against them unless they are bastards
