This does get asked a lot and I understand where you're coming from. I see so many people calling SEO dead for the past 2 years, I wanted to create an award page saying your award will be with you soon but due to demand - we're in a 2 week backlog. Because people feel so smart/smug (like they did 10 years ago when twitter emerged) - but its not based on any knowhow - its because they hated SEO in the first place

Some basics - critical thinking is critical to understanding both AI - which isn't AI, they are LLMs. LLMs are parotts and they dont know how to research or weight things. For example most LLMs think that chiropractic is real - until you debate them. also, most of the public - they think Google grades content based on its quality - which is frankly impossible and I'm not going into that in this comment....

And so - if you dont know how LLMs work (basically predicitng the most common word connections based on studying the most common sentences about something) - you realize, they can't do anything new, they have to exclude everything thats outside the curve and they dont know if those opinions are right. Because copy bloggers have done such a great job at building the "Google Content Appreciation Engine" - thats what LLMs think SEO is....

And if you dont know that SEO is based on an objective, content-agnostic system called PageRank - you'd assume the same and then assume that SEO is baked.

But SEO isn't just about people writing blog posts about what the capital of France is .... not all content is binary (true/fales) content - its about observations, experiences, strategies, new ideas - things that LLMs do not have access to because they're not mind readers.

Concensus is not evidence or factual, its just the most parotted line of thinking. And thats why every day (thankfully less and less) people come here and try to talk about good content and tell people their page isn't ranking because its not good enough (having never ever even seeing it)
